3D Shaded Surface Display (SSD) reconstruction from CT scans of a section of cable from the WHOI deep sea submersible ROV Alvin. CT was used prior to a scheduled dive to determine if the cable was damaged. Scans revealed a break in one of the cable wires and the cable was replaced.
