"The most significant findings upon gross examination are: hemorrhage around the ear bones and pterygoid sinus; vessel engorgement in the soft palate, pterygoid sinuses and on the ventral surface of the brain; ulcers in the fore stomach; nematode burden (moderate to heavy) in the upper gastrointestinal tract; Phyllobothrium sp. present in blubber; and dehydrated status. The cause of death cannot be definitively determined from gross examination alone. Histopathology cannot be performed due to the autolyzed condition of animal." (C. Harms)
