3D rotation constructed from CT scans of the skull of a Blainville's Beaked Whale (Mesoplodon densirostris) shown in both horizontal and vertical planes demonstrating the position of the skull relative to the surrounding transparent soft tissues. Key anatomical features of this species include the two protruding tusks embedded in an anterior and posterior sloping mandible. The brain of this animal was extracted during postmortem dissection exposing the interior brain case of the skull (specimen data).
