| Abstract | Hsu and Nadol (1990) showed a strong positive correlation for the degree of bony occlusion and years of deafness from meningogenic labyrinthitis in post-mortem specimens of temporal bones. In the current study, high resolution CT techniques were used to image the inner ears of 10 adult and 10 juvenile cochlear implant candidates with hearing losses from bacterial meningitis to determine whether post-meningogenic bony occlusions could be measured in vivo. |
